Savage Vines are proud to stock the organic wines from Di Ubaldo. These currently include the Marcuzzo Montepulciano and the Otium Passerina. Both of these are classic grapes of the Abruzzo region.
The 15 hectare Di Ubaldo farm produces wonderful organic wine, in the shade of the Girella & Feltrone Mountains, in the Abruzzo region of Italy. The Salinello river splits these towering twins and has dug a soft limestone gorge. The mountains and rivers help negate potentially problematic weather and allow for a truly wonderful end product representative of the beautiful landscape it’s found in.
The Di Ubaldo family are relatively new to winemaking. The family had worked for generations in the textile industry. This former life is seen in their labelling, which has a delicate fabric element to it. Now they’re winemakers and have adopted an organic approach. They avoid chemical and synthetic pesticides and fertilisers.
