We’ll take a look at our favourite main grape varieties and give you a recommendation on an album that will make your vino taste a whole lot better. Let’s dive into some music and wine pairings!

Wine 1 – Sauvignon Blanc

This is an aromatic grape variety that produces wines with lots of fresh aromas which flow out of the glass – all you need to do is to stick the end of your nose in the glass and they will be there waiting. Sauvignon Blanc typically has high acidity which make them very refreshing and easy to drink. In most instances, Sauvignon Blanc won’t undergo any oak treatment in order to preserve the natural and elegant notes. Like 99% of grape varieties, the climate that you grow Sauvignon Blanc in will influence the different aromas you may expect to experience. Starting from citrus fruits like lime and lemon [found in cooler climates] going all the way to tropical fruits like passion fruit and pineapple [found in moderate climates].

Music 1 – Jack Johnson – All the light above it too – 2017

Jack Johnson is a cool guy. He is a super laid-back singer/songwriter, professional surfer and filmmaker from Hawaii. His songs are relaxing and easy to listen to and they are perfect to start our music and wine pairings. Wines made from this grape have floral aromas, citrus fruits, stone fruits and even tasty tropical fruits like mango and papaya. They are very intense white wines without a high alcohol content. These wines are super drinkable and playful. All Rieslings have high acidity which is great for food pairing makes them a great choice with fatty dishes. This grape also offers a great deal of residual sugar making them a perfect fit for spicy Asian cuisine.
