Bodegas Lustau is a premium sherry producer from the Jerez region in southern Spain. The Lustau family have roots in the production of Sherry wine since the 1890’s and have been growing the business ever since. They have a number of brands under the Lustau name and are known for producing high quality dry and sweet Sherry.
Lustau East India Solera Cream Sherry is a sweet sherry made through blending Oloroso (dry sherry ) and Pedro Ximénez (sweet sherry) together to form a smooth and pleasant cream sherry. In your sherry glass this wine will be a dark mahogany colour with a green-amber tinge. On the nose you will note lively maple syrup, brown sugar, raisins and chocolate beer nuts aromas. On the palate initial flavours smooth and rich, full of prune and burnt orange peel. To finish there is a pleasant spice which appears just before its nuttiness and acidity cuts through the sweetness.
It should be served slightly chilled at between 10 – 12ºC.
Pair with: Creamy cheese or light cakes.
Serving suggestion: Try East India Solera Sherry on the rocks with a slice of orange, it is simply delicious.
