Calmel and Joseph was founded in 1995 but they’re helping to produce stunning wines from the Languedoc region as if their blood was made of claret.
They describe Languedoc-Roussillon as a ‘viticultural el dorado’. A Kingdom of gold where all things are possible. This is the attitude that they take to their wines.
New and exciting takes on classic French styles of wine. Blending wines from different portions of this vast and expansive region. Hunting down the sharpest winemakers in the south to come and harness the expertly chosen land.
Then, they look to work in as natural a way as possible, with organic status being achieved on numerous lines of their wine. You don’t want to spoil el dorado after all.
Calmel and Joseph La Fabrique utilises vines dating back to 1890. Some of the finest Carignan to be had comes from old vines in Languedoc.
Calmel and Joseph La Fabrique is certainly one of them. A multi award-winning powerhouse of a wine, which we recommend you allow some time to breathe and open up.
Calmel and Joseph La Fabrique has a nose of wild strawberries and green pepper. With a supple and silky body that exposes notes of cherry, fig, baking spice and peppermint.
In spite of the power of the Calmel and Joseph La Fabrique, it retains a real freshness thanks to it being grown at altitude. Calmel and Joseph La Fabrique is balanced, complex and above all delicious.

Delivery: We deliver to UK mainland (excluding Scottish Highlands) using DPD Local for £4.95. We will dispatch the Calmel and Joseph La Fabrique on a next working day service so it will be delivered within 3 working days of purchase. DPD will email you a tracking reference once they have picked up the order items from us and provide you with a delivery slot for the following working day. Yes. Select the bottle of wine you want to send as a gift and then on the checkout page mark the order as a gift. Once you do this a text box will appear where you can enter in your gift message. Note we do not include any pricing information with the delivery of the wine so the recipient will not know how much the bottle of wine gift cost.

Discounts prices are available to all active subscribers and wine club members. Simply purchase a monthly wine subscription or join the wine club and the discounted prices are applied automatically to all future orders.

In the monthly wine subscription, you receive a monthly delivery of wines curated by our sommeliers, based on the type preference you select (red wine, white wine or both). This helps subscribers to discover new styles and varieties, which you wouldn’t normally come across or buy. Wine club members pay a selected amount into their wine club account every month. We don’t deliver any wine to them until they place an order for the specific wines they chose using their account balance. In short, the subscription product is for wine drinkers wanting to discover new wines and are happy for us to chose for them where the wine club is for those who know what they like and want to have control over which wines they receive. Both monthly subscriber and wine club members receive discounted prices on all orders.

We endeavour to source wines from small family-operated vineyards, who are either certified organic, bio-dynamic, or working towards this. All certified organic wines will be labelled as such, in our online store. Currently, 85% of the wines we sell are certified organic so there plenty to choose from. If you head to the menu on the website select Wine Method / Organic Wine and that will show you all the wine in our shop which is certified organic.

There are multiple options for delivery. The cheapest option is our 3 working day delivery service which is £4.95. DPD is our preferred delivery partner who will provide you with a live tracking link and delivery window once the item/s have been collected from our warehouse. Returns
