Excellent value organic Chenin Blanc from Chateau De La Roulerie who are located in the Anjou region of the Loire Valley in France. The winemaker, Philippe Germain who is originally from Bordeaux, has been making wine in the region for a little over 20 years. He and his brother Thierry from Domaine Des Roches Neuves are well known for making high quality organic wines at affordable prices.
The Loire Valley primarily produces two types of high quality wine, Chenin Blanc (white wines) and Cabernet Franc (red wines). Chateau Roulerie – Magnolia Chenin Blanc 18′ is Philippe’s top Chenin Blanc. It is a wine which exhibits an inviting combination of fleshy peach and nectarine which sit on a subtle base of biscuit and hints of ginger. A very nice wine and will pair well with dessert.
Pair with: Soft and creamy cheese or a slice of plain cheese cake.
