Cara Sur is a project of the prodigy Sebastian Zuccardi, from the esteemed Familia Zuccardi. Cara Sur means South Face and refers to the treacherous mountain-scape that overlooks the vineyards here. Cara Sur Bonarda is produced from 50 year old vines, 1,500 metres above sea level; a place that has garnered much interest in recent years as having tremendous potential.
Cara Sur Bonarda Tinto 18′- Bonarda, (also known as Douce Noir), is distinct from the Italian Bonarda grape varietal. Bonarda is a deep and desirable purple, with a rich and jammy black and blue fruit flavours. The Cara Sur Bonarda delivers this in spades. An intensely gamey nose, with barrels of a herbaceous blackberry jam. This group of flavours persists on the palate with an uncompromisingly dense textures and tannins you can almost bite into.
