French Organic Wine
This is an amazing French Mixed Case of organic wines we have imported direct from small, independent family run vineyards. This mixed case of French wine includes two bottles of sparkling organic Cremant wine (a Rose and White), two bottles of organic white wine (a Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc) and two bottles of organic red wine (Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot blend).
All the wines are excellent quality and will be a welcomed Christmas wine gift or addition to your own wine rack (not that they will last long!) In this mixed case selection you will receive one standard 750ml bottle of each of the following wines:
Domaine Haegi – Rose Cremant D’Alsace (Bio-dynamic): The HAEGI Domaine owns vineyards with a total surface of 10ha, distributed over MITTELBERGHEIM and EICHHOFFEN sub regions in Alsace, France. The Haegi family devotes its efforts to produce wines which express the character of the environment and soils in which the vines grow. Their vineyards used to make sparkling wine are situated in low, gently sloped surfaces of moist lime or clay. These conditions provide ideal conditions for our superb bottle-fermented Alsatian sparkling wine called Crémant d’Alsace. This sparkling rose Cremant has been made with Pinot Noir grapes and presents an elegant robe. Its delicate bubbles, its raspberry aromas, its fleshy and fruity mouth give it all its originality. Ideal for aperitif and a speciality of their Domaine. 12% abv.
Domaine De Bablut – Cremant De Loire Brut (Organic): The Domaine is located south of the Loire River. The vineyards cover an area of just over 50 hectares in an area known as the garden of France. The grapes for this wine are picked by hand with no artificial sprays or chemicals used in the vineyard. Made using the same production method as Champagne, Domaine Bablut Cremant is excellent value for money and you will taste the difference in quality. The wine will have nice fine bubbles flowing with crisp acidity on the palate. Expect a good combination of fresh citrus fruit, floral and a hint of creaminess on the nose. 12.5% abv.
Domaine Haegi – Riesling Aurore 18′ (Biodynamic): The HAEGI Domaine owns vineyards with a total surface of 10ha, distributed over MITTELBERGHEIM and EICHHOFFEN sub regions in Alsace, France. The Haegi family devotes its efforts to produce wines which express the character of the environment and soils in which the vines grow. Aurore is the first name of their eldest daughter. This organic Riesling wine comes from the hills of Eichhoffen. The wine is dry, delicately fruity with a nice well balanced structure with floral nuances. Riesling is a wine made to pair with food, including fish, turkey and a regional specialty – the onion pie! 12.5 % abv.
Domaine De Bablut Sauvignon Blanc 19′ (Biodynamic): The Domaine is located south of the Loire River. The vineyards cover an area of just over 50 hectares. Their philosophy is the harmony between terroir and grape variety, where importance is placed on the vine being in harmony with the land where it grows and the environment where it flourishes. The grapes for this wine are picked by hand with no artificial sprays or chemicals used in the vineyard. You will taste the difference in quality with a lovely acidic backbone sitting behind flavours of gooseberry, grapefruit and peach. Pair this wine with pecorino (sheeps milk) cheeses. 12.5% abv.
Château Rioublanc Bordeaux Rouge 14′ (Organic): The chateau is a beautiful Girondine building from the early 19th century, acquired in 1963 by the Carretero family, who began bottling at the Château in 1972. Since then the estate has grown to 47 hectares, certified 100% organic since 2012. At Château Rioublanc the quality of their wine is starts in the vineyard. Their vineyard is worked to respect the vines, the life of the soil and the Terroir. This wine is made using the four noble organic Bordeaux grape varieties: Merlot (70%), Cabernet Sauvignon (20%), Cabernet Franc (6%) and Malbec (4%). This blend is adapted to the different terroirs of the estate and brings the richness, complexity and subtlety of our wines. Pair with: Roasted meats and cured cheeses. 12.5% abv.
Domaine Dhomme – Les Perrays 18′(Organic) – Fourth generation winemakers who believe in the need to protect the environment and everyone’s health and therefor are certified in Organic Agriculture. Made from 100% organic Cabernet Franc grapes this is a wine which will keep you coming back for more. Expect raspberry, plum and black cherry in the mouth along with a nice undertone of black pepper. Extremely well balanced and good longevity in the mouth. 13% abv. Get out of the supermarket and into organic and bio-dynamic wine today! Organic wines are better for the environment as the winemaker does not spray artificial herbicides and pesticides in the vineyard to control pests and weeds. Instead, the winemaker will use more natural methods like having ducks, geese and sheep to eat the weeds and position other plants throughout the vineyard which bugs and insects prefer to the wine grapes.

It depends on what quality of wine you are looking for. The price of the case of wine is usually a good indicator of the quality of wine. If you pay anywhere between £150-£170 for a 12 bottle mixed case of wine you can expect the quality of wine to be good. Make sure it includes a couple of bottles of sparkling wine and a good mix of red and white wines.

You should buy at least 1 bottle of wine for every 2 people at a wedding. If you have invited 50 people to your wedding then you will need 25 bottles of wine or 2 cases of wine. This will be enough so that every guest has 2 glasses of wine. There may be some people who don’t drink wine and children within your guest list which means that those who are drinking the wine will end up being able to have more than the 2 glasses of wine.
-
You should buy 2 cases of wine for every 25 people attending the party. For a case of wine which contains 12 x 75cl bottles of wine there will be enough for 4 glasses of wine for every person. You are likely to have a few left over bottles of wine but it is better to have too much than not enough.

A standard case of wine contains 12 bottles. Traditionally wine was packaged in 12 bottle cases however you find more companies are selling wine in cases of 6 bottles. They do this because people are living in smaller houses or apartments and often don’t have the room for space for 12 bottles of wine. Additionally, 12 bottle cases of wine are heavy and with a shift towards online ordering it is not recommended to send a 12 bottle case of wine through a delivery network as there is a higher likely hood of them being damaged or smashed. Savage Vines will always deliver your wine in multiple 6 bottle wine cases.
