Smoked Salmon Blinis

Making Salmon Blinis is easy and a real crowd pleaser. In this Smoked Salmon Blini recipe we are using premade blinis which you can buy from most supermarkets. You can make your own Blinis but this will add a good 30 minutes to the cook and prep time and just be more hassle than its worth. Ingredients
  • 200 grams of sliced Smoked Salmon
  • 200 grams of crème fraiche
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Handful of fresh dill
  • Pack of 16 cocktail blinis
  • Sea salt and black pepper
Method
  • Step 1

    Preheat your oven to 180 degrees and line a baking tray with non-stick baking paper. Then slice your lemon in half and pull the dill off the stem.

  • Step 2

    Empty all of the Crème Fraiche into a medium sized mixing bowl. Then squeeze one half of the lemon juice on top of the Crème Fraiche. Add in a handful of dill on top of the mixture.

  • Step 3

    Using a fork or whisk, mix the Crème Fraiche, lemon juice and dill for about 45 seconds and set to the side

  • Step 4

    Place your Blinis onto the baking tray and into the oven. Put on a timer for 4 minutes

  • Step 5

    Open your packet of Smoked Salmon and cut it into strips which are about 2-3cm wide and between 5-7cm long

  • Step 6

    Once your timer has gone off, remove the Blinis from the oven. Place them onto your serving platter, evenly spread out. Using a small spoon scoop the Crème Fraiche mixture into the centre of each Blini, leaving a small gap between the mixture and edge of the Blini. Otherwise your Smoked Salmon Blini’s will be messy to eat.

  • Step 7

    Now fold a piece of the smoked salmon and carefully place on top of the mixture. Add a small sprinkling of dill over the platter and you are done! You now know how to make Smoked Salmon Blinis!
