HOW TO GET AROUND BARCELONA:

If you plan on spending some time in Barcelona then you can get about easily enough with their public transport system. Their Metro trains run right to the airport, so you can get off the plane and into the centre very easily. Single tickets go for roughly €2.20*, or you can buy a ‘HOLA BCN’ card which offers you unlimited travel throughout the city and is priced accordingly.

For the urban adventurer, you can also hire a ‘Yego’. Much like the Lime scooters in other cities across the world, however Yego is an electric moped service. It’s priced at 25 cents per minute, and is a good way to make short journeys through the city. You can literally pick them up via their app and drop them anywhere (that’s safe) when you’re done. (Check their FAQ’s for more information).

THE FIVE BEST WINE BARS IN BARCELONA:

Once you have landed in Barcelona, checked into your accommodation and seen a few cultural sights, it’s definitely time for some wine. See below for our list of our favourites places to drink.

#1 L’Anima Del Vi
Best Wine Bars in Barcelona | L'Anima Del Vi

L’Anima Del Vi is a quaint bar and doesn’t look like much from the front. Looks can fool and it’s whats on the inside that count! Serving primarily natural wine and simple Catalonian tapas dishes it’s one to put on your holiday itinerary. It’s got a rustic feel and is a great place to go for a relaxing drink. Their small plates are forever revolving, just like their wine list. We highly recommend checking this wine bar out.

“Where is L’Anima del Vi?” We hear you asking! Well here’s the address!
Carrer dels Vigatans, 8, 08003 Barcelona, Spain

#2 Viblioteca
Best Wine Bars in Barcelona | Viblioteca

Viblioteca shares the same ethos as L’Anima del Vi, however it has a more contemporary style to it. Both wine bars are a short ride on the metro away for each other, so it’s not out of the question to have a drink at both places on the same evening.

The name Viblioteca is an amalgamation of the Catalan words for wine (vi) and library (biblioteca). The venue has chosen a fitting name, as this gem of a wine bar boasts a library of over 100 different wines, so they’ll have something for even the fussiest of drinkers!

#3 Gran Bodega Maestrazgo
Wine Bars In Barcelona | Gran Bodega Maestrazgo

We love Gran Bodega Maestrazgo at Savage Vines. It’s got such a rustic feel to it, despite being in the heart of Barcelona’s urban jungle. Situated just round the corner from both Parc de la Ciutadella and the museum of chocolate, it’s perfectly located to have a drink after a day of sight seeing and chocolate sampling.

Bodega Maestrazgo is a third generation, family-run wine bar that has been serving wine to the folks of Barcelona since 1952. They work with small producers and really understand every wine they serve. Their wine bar showcases the best wines from Catalonia, Spain and the rest of the world.

Wanting to visit Gran Bodega Maestrazgo? Well here’s the address.

Carrer de Sant Pere Més Baix, 90, 08003 Barcelona, Spain

#4 El Diset
El Diset Wine Bar Barcelona

El Diset is quite simply, cool. It has a sleek aesthetic, it’s dimly lit and it’s situated in one of Barcelona’s most happening areas. Aesthetics aside, it’s their wine list which is the main attraction. Very extensive and focuses predominantly on wine from local producers.

It’s only a short walk from Bodega Maestrazgo, so we’d recommend visiting both bars in between a stop at the Museu Picasso. In our view this is one of the best wine bars in Barcelona
