The Rheinhessen wine region is the largest of Germany’s 13 wine regions. This iconic region takes it’s name from it’s proximity to the Rhine river, which is one of Europe’s largest rivers. This gargantuan region is also historic. Roman documents reference vineyards in this region as far back as 742 AD.

Famous for the classic German Riesling, the Rheinhessen also produces fantastic Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc and Dornfelder, (just to name a few). Learn more about this, as well as some other key German wine regions
